Meet the Chefs

Vision of the Young Chefs AcademyYoung Chefs Academy
Our vision is to provide vocational training and real employment experiences; supporting young people and adults to gain the necessary skills and confidence to progress in a job or career within the hospitality and food industry. To achieve this we have created Forster’s Bistro & Deli; a self sustaining enterprise serving moderately priced simple meals in an unpretentious setting. The Bistro & Deli offers an exciting array of dining events and offers a lunch service to the College’s students and regular customers. Integral to the Bistro & Deli is the enterprising and vibrant Young Chefs Academy.

With the help of inspiring leaders we aim to fuel the passion to be successful and enjoy work. We believe by harnessing the creativity of people through food; bringing growing, cooking and eating together, we can produce real opportunities for sustained employment and inspire a thirst for a career and progression in this sector.

How can you support the Young Chefs Academy Enterprise?

  • Eat – Join us at Forster’s Bistro & Deli for lunch or dinner.
  • Be inspiring – the Academy works with individuals from many backgrounds, not all of whom will have confidence that they can achieve and make something from the course. We are looking for inspiring examples of what can be achieved to encourage our Young Chefs. We need people to come and talk to our young people, perhaps run a Master Class to demonstrate what is achievable, invite them into the workplace to meet others and see the employment world they are moving towards.
  • Offer Employment Opportunities –The Academy is all about offering real employment opportunities. The College is looking for employers in the food industry who are interested in offering work placements, taking on apprentices or looking for full time staff. As employers in and around Bradford, you are in the ideal position to offer these Young Chefs the opportunity they need to get started in the industry.
  • Spread the word – OurVision will only be realised if we are successful with our fundraising activities such as the Master Classes or Dining Events. We need your help to tell others; whether it be other companies, restaurants, customers or friends and family. Getting the message out there is key to the success of the Enterprise.
  • Master Classes –We are looking for experts to run Master Classes and to give talks on Fine Foods for ourTalk andTaste Club.
  • Sponsor a Young Chef – Could your company sponsor one or more of the Young Chefs?
