Open Doors Art Exhibition
Students from the School of Community Engagement & Cultural Diversity at Forster Community College in Bradford display their artwork in a vibrant exhibition that includes work inspired by Kandinsky, Monet and William Morris. |

The exhibition is the culmination of up to 2 years’ work for students on the Level 2 Certificate in Art and Design at the College. |
| |
| “Students were given a brief to explore the work of other artists and to develop their own ideas into a final artwork,” explained Course Leader Anni Howard, “but as it was also part of the qualification for them to display their own work, they planned and curated the exhibition themselves. They have worked incredibly hard and achieved a high standard of work, and they should all feel proud of their success.” |

Highlights include a multi-coloured cube that appears to be suspended in mid air, and textile and printed pieces inspired by the work of Monet. |

| Alongside this work is artwork from the NCFE Award in Creative Craft courses, which incorporates masks, paintings, sculptures and textile pieces. |

“We called the exhibition Opening Doors,” Anni explained, “because our arts courses have opened up new opportunities for so many people in the Bradford district. We are often the first step back into education, which can be daunting, but our inclusive creative environment is designed to encourage and motivate everyone, and to find the creativity within, even in those who think they can’t draw!” |
